Northwestern Football Hires David Braun as Their New Head Coach

Northwestern University has announced that interim head coach David Braun will be elevated to their permanent head coach position. This season as Northwestern’s interim head coach, he led the Wildcats to a 5-5 record.

Northwestern President had great things to say about Braun saying that “[w]e asked Dave to support our student-athletes this season, and he has done an exceptional job.” Northwestern appointed Braun as their interim head coach following their firing of former head coach Pat Fitzgerald. Before Braun, Fitzgerald held the Northwestern head coach position from 2006 to 2022. As Northwestern’s new head football coach, Braun will be tasked with rebuilding a new recruiting class that was decimated after the firing of Fitzgerald.
